Meagan managed to sit through the entire morning church service today. We had to remind her a few times to whisper, but all in all, she was pretty good! And I still managed to hear the sermon, which was well received by myself.
Things that made me LOL today (and no Dad, LOL does not mean Lots of Love):
Kaitlyn and Meagan playing house where Kaitlyn was the baby, and Meagan kept saying “You tired? Bedtime!” and that’s all she did. Kept trying to put Kaitlyn to bed, including putting soother in her mouth, loading her with blankets and giving her a “gagy (aka baby) cup”.
The girls eating dinner. Meagan at first was not cooperating so I said “Kaitlyn’s eating her supper.” To which Kaitlyn perked up at her name and said “No, I was just too distracted.”
Kaitlyn watching some TV on her “downtime”: “Grover looks cute.”
That’s about it for today. I wanted to add a photo so I looked at the camera to see what Meagan and Ryan have been up to this week and found this pic on the memory card. Love her expression 🙂
Kaitlyn comes out of her room (for the third time tonight). So I sigh, say “Kaitlyn, you need to get to sleep”. Kaitlyn: “But Meagan’s arm and leg are out of her bed!”. Me: “That doesn’t matter. You need to stay in bed.” I lead her back to her bed and find Meagan literally beside her bed, with her head only on the mattress.
OK, good call, Kaitlyn…
Today was Kaitlyn’s first day of Grade 1, and Meagan’s first day of preschool. Kaitlyn was so excited this morning, she took two bites of her breakfast and said she “just can’t eat anymore!” She woke up with the biggest grin which stayed on her face as I watched her board the school bus this morning. She said she had fun, was happy to see her friends again, and likes her new teacher. Meagan also started preschool today. One of the biggest obstacles to preschool was she needs to be potty trained in order to attend. So a few weeks ago, we started “all-or-nothing” training, which seems to have worked! With Meagan, we knew it had to be all or nothing since she is a very stubborn girl who wants to do things on her own terms. So anyway, back to preschool. Today was 45 minutes with a parent present as she is gradually introduced to preschool. Ryan is working late shift this week so it worked perfectly and he was able to attend. Of course I gave him a list of questions to ask the teacher and he did a good job of getting the answers I needed 🙂 Meagan was first overwhelmed and clung to Ryan. But gradually she warmed up and apparently didn’t want to leave when time was up. Hopefully this will be a great experience for her! Here are some photos from today:
Ever since our old computer crashed, we’ve been trying to survive with our old hand-me-down laptop. It’s great in some ways, but didn’t work well with my old blogger site. I’ve been told by a few (especially my Mother) that they miss my blog posts (especially the photos for out of town relatives), so welcome to my new blog. Enjoy!
We’re in the process of training Meagan in her toddler bed. She spends about 50% of the nights in there so far, so we’re making progress!
Kaitlyn at the Abbotsford Fair. We’ve tried to do lots of day trip things with the girls this year to make up for the fact we didn’t take a vacation. They’ve had a great summer! Kaitlyn is also sporting a new hairstyle 🙂
That’s it for now! Hopefully I get back into the blogging soon!
